Why mccloudCo

Senior Judgment, Not a Rotating Bench

Four commitments we don't compromise on — however large the client, however long the engagement runs, however easy it would be to cut a corner along the way.

mccloudCo exists because most organizations sit in an uncomfortable middle ground — too complex to run on ad-hoc support or a part-time consultant, but not yet ready to justify a full-time executive hire. We built both of our practices around that gap specifically, which is why the model looks the same whether you're a three-school district or a forty-person business: a senior consultant, a defined scope, and a clear path to step up only when the work actually calls for it.

What makes that model work isn't the pricing structure or the tier ladder — it's who shows up and what they're allowed to recommend. Every engagement is led by a principal consultant, never handed down to junior staff partway through, and every recommendation is made without a curriculum, platform, or vendor commission sitting behind it. That's not a marketing position. It's the only way an advisory relationship stays honest long enough to be worth having.

Our Commitments, Not Just Claims

Three things you can hold us to — in writing, in the SOW, and in every engagement that follows it.

3 transparency Decrease, an improvement.

Acknowledgment target for P1 critical issues

Every scope and price is documented in a Statement of Work before anything is billed — not a verbal understanding, not a handshake agreement, not "we'll sort out the details later."

1 consultant Decrease, an improvement.

Acknowledgment target

No engagement is staffed down to a junior analyst — not on day one, not in month eleven, and not when the scope grows beyond what anyone originally quoted.

6 acknowledged Decrease, an improvement.

Acknowledgment target for P1 critical issues

Every priority level has a published response target — this is the one for when it actually matters: a critical outage or urgent issue gets acknowledged in 30 minutes.

Leads with contrast: Other firms promise this in a pitch deck. We put it in the Statement of Work, where it's actually enforceable.

How we work

We build the plan around your organization, not a template we already had

Every engagement starts with a diagnostic — not a sales pitch dressed up as one. We look at what's actually happening in your school or business before we recommend anything, so the tier we suggest reflects what we found, not what fills a slide deck. The same principal consultant who runs that diagnostic stays on through the engagement, so nothing gets handed off to someone meeting you for the first time.

The tradeoff is that we're not the right fit for anyone looking for a fast, generic answer. If you want a package sold before anyone's looked at your actual situation, we're going to be slower and more particular than that — we'd rather tell you that up front than sell a diagnostic whose real content is a template with your name changed.

How we sell

The uncomfortable parts, stated before you sign

Pricing lives on our pricing page and it's the same whether you found us through a referral, a search, or a cold call — we don't run a different number depending on how motivated we think you are. The diagnostic that determines your tier is free, because charging for it would give us a reason to steer you toward a bigger number instead of the right one.

There's no renewal markup built into the standard agreement, and no clause tying your documentation or your data to staying a client in good standing. The frameworks, templates, and runbooks we build during the engagement are left with your team regardless of whether you renew — they were never ours to hold onto.

In every statement of work

  • $0 Cost of the consultation & diagnostic No cost, no obligation, before you decide anything.
  • 30 min P1 critical response target Published once, and the same whether you're a single school or a 200-person business.
  • In writing Scope and price, before billing Your tier, scope, and price are locked in before a single dollar is invoiced.

The short list

Six differences that hold up under questions

Written as claims, not adjectives. Each one comes with a question you can ask on your first call to test it.

Senior-led, every time

No junior analysts, ever. The same principal consultant who runs your diagnostic stays on the account for the full engagement. Test it: ask who's actually on your diagnostic call — that's who you'll be working with.

Response commitments in writing

P1–P4 acknowledgment targets are written into every Statement of Work, not implied. Test it: ask what happens if a critical issue comes in at 4:58 PM on a Friday.

Pricing that doesn't move mid-term

Tier, scope, and price are locked in writing before anything is billed. Test it: ask what happens if your needs change mid-term — the price doesn't, until you choose to step up.

Offboarding that isn't a fight

Credentials and access get handed back or revoked cleanly, with no drawn-out exit process. Test it: ask what offboarding actually looks like before you ever sign anything.

An honest "not yet"

We'll tell you if now isn't the right time to invest — and put it in writing if you ask. Test it: ask what happens if your diagnostic finds you don't need us.

Independently checked

The part of this page somebody else audits

Claims about our own product are ours to make. These are not. Each one is examined by a third party on a published cycle, and every report is available to read before you sign rather than after.

Certifications and attestations

Certificates and reports are released under NDA through the trust portal, normally within one business day of the request.

  • SOC 2 Type II

Examined annually by an independent CPA firm across Security, Availability and Confidentiality. The current report covers the twelve months to September 2025.

    Current
  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022

Certified information security management system covering the platform, corporate IT and both data-centre regions.

    Current
  • ISO/IEC 27701

Privacy information management extension, audited on the same cycle as the 27001 certificate.

    Current

The certificates and the current SOC 2 report are the authoritative documents. Nothing written on this page amends a signed agreement, and where the two disagree the agreement wins.

Evidence

Deployments you can check with the customer

Three further deployments — none of them the teams quoted above — each one testing a different claim from the short list. Numbers signed off by the customer, no pilots, no anonymised logos.

Logistics 1,900 employees

Harborline Systems

Tests claim one, lineage nobody had to write. A five-year-old scheduler with no owner came out in nine weeks, on a graph parsed from query history rather than authored by hand.

68% fewer pipeline incidents

Financial services 5,200 employees

Ferro Bank

Tests claim five, an export that is not a favour. Old and new pipelines ran side by side until the column diff came back empty, and the whole regulatory review was answered from one export.

11-day regulated cutover

Freight and logistics 860 employees

Northwind Freight

Tests claim two, alerts that name an owner. A fifteen-hour handoff chain collapsed to one named engineer with the failing SQL already attached, across eleven reverse-ETL syncs.

19 hours to 4 hours MTTR
