What we believe

Good advice has nothing to sell

mccloudCo was built on a simple observation: most advisory relationships break down because the person giving advice has something to gain from a specific answer — a commission, a quota, a reason to keep billing longer than necessary.

Why mccloudCo exists

A generic playbook applied to a specific organization isn't advice — it's a guess dressed up as expertise. It might work by coincidence, but it isn't built to. We believe good guidance starts somewhere else entirely: with understanding what makes your situation different before anyone proposes a solution to it. That means asking more questions before offering answers, and it means being willing to say that what worked for the last client won't work for you, even when a templated answer would be faster to give and easier to sell.

This isn't just a nice sentiment — it changes the actual sequence of how we work. Diagnosis comes before prescription, every time, not as a formality but because we genuinely don't know the right recommendation until we've looked. It's slower than handing over a standard package on the first call. We think it's the only version of advice actually worth paying for.

Mission

To give schools, districts, and growing businesses senior-level leadership — academic and technological — without the cost or commitment of a full-time executive hire. We close the gap between going without and overpaying for a role only needed a few hours a week, starting every relationship with a diagnostic instead of a sales pitch and keeping the same consultant on an engagement from first call to last.

Vision

A future where every organization that needs experienced leadership can get it at the scale it actually needs — not the scale a vendor needs to sell. Too much of the advisory market sizes its offerings around what's profitable rather than what a client requires; we want "we can't afford it yet" to be the only reason an organization goes without senior leadership — never "the only option available was sized for someone else."

Our core beliefs

No two organizations need the same answer

A generic playbook applied to a specific organization isn't advice — it's a guess dressed up as expertise. We believe good guidance starts with understanding what makes your situation different, not fitting it into a template built for someone else.

Trust is built, not announced

Anyone can put "we care about our clients" on a website. We think the only real test is what happens when no one's watching — the small decisions, the honest answers, the follow-through on things too minor to ever show up in a case study.

Leadership capacity can be built, not just bought

Too much of this industry treats leadership like something you either have or don't — you either afford the executive hire or you go without. We don't think that's true. Leadership capacity can be developed and grown into over time.
